So I finished my first route, getting Tiger #4 and Leopard cat #1.
To sum it it up, I really like it so far. More than Lagoon Lounge but less than Juichi's route in Morenatsu; the story is definitely better but the husbandos are worse. Because the narrative spends a lot of time on MC and his predicament the cats are overshadowed, secondary. Basically, I felt like I spent the whole game soul-searching, struggling to decide whom to help instead of romancing the cast. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, just different. Of course, I still have plenty to play so when all it's said and done I might come to see the felines in a new light.
And speaking of choices, it was hard! Physically speaking, I like the tiger the best but his issues seemed the least pressing. On the other hand, warning people on Clouded Leopard's behalf felt urgent, plus he's the one to "open your eyes" and I felt bad for him because of the language barrier. Finally, senpai is my least liked, personality and body wise, but he is possessing the body of a human, which comes with certain needs so I did let him sleep on the bed, even though I longed for the tiger's embrace... I did my best to be a "good person" and tried to find something that would work out for everyone but in the end it all fell apart :/ Now I'm really curious what the true ending is like and how it deals with this whole mess.
The glossary is a very nice addition since I was completely clueless about the folklore and religion that's the basis of the game.
Lastly, I'm really grateful the authors took the time and resources to officially translate the game into English. Sure, there's some awkward phrasing and odd word choices (sacrifice instead of offering really sands out) but for the most part it's perfectly understandable.
