From what I understand... there was a developer disagreement among the production and progress of the game was going and... they tried to stick away from the furry races.

Breathe of Fire 1: Introduction to the various creatures that also included furry creatures.

Breath of Fire 2: New team decided, out with the old in with the new. Nina remained because the fan base enjoyed the characteristics. Karn and Bo were secret hidden characters. Bleu (snake race became an optional recruit secret character). New furry races added.

Breathe of Fire 3: Again out with the old in with the new. Very beginning scene, forces you to kill Bo and the mole race. Re-occurring furry race tiger is back (Rei) and Human race as a character selection again (Momo). Towards the end, heavily emphasizes in the final encounter that furry races are inferior beings and that the supreme races (your BoF3 team) is too powerful and that you could easily make the other races extinct.

Breathe of Fire 4: Once again out with the old in with the new. Re-occuring tiger race is back along with a dog (not a wolf as in BoF1). Also apparently (famous human dog breeds) became the new furry race for some reason.

Breathe of Fire 5: Total make over, no furry races.

Breathe of Fire 6: Total make over. This time canine furry race.

Oh... and to your question why hardly no furry porn of him. He had no role in BoF4 main story and there fore you can easily pass by him. He was only a "Master" teacher of various skills but the skills he taught were crap, stat growth was terrible, and... where he was placed in the game made him very annoying to get back too to learn those skills.

So since there was nothing memorable about him and no reason to go back to him; he became an unsung NPC.

Fun fact: That's the only wolf race with that sprite in the entire game.
