I actually liked the first build so I was looking forward to the next one. It just came out and hoo boy...
SpoilerFirst, asshole racist cops. Then a backstory involving slave owners, I guess to establish how not racist the main characters are. All of this made me roll my eyes, but didn't bother me too much, because it didn't feel that forced, especially considering the time periods. But, then, out of fucking nowhere, a lecture on what it means to be pansexual. In a story that supposed to take place in the 70's. The stupidest thing, though, is the fact that it uses the Blacksad logic where fur color=race. Just like Blacksad the main character is implied to be mixed race, because he's both black and white. Except it makes even less sense here, because he's a fucking opossum and all opossums have the same fur color.
Despite all this, I really enjoyed the rest of the story and the characters. I love the art too. I really want to like it, but yeah. It's Nikko so I'm bracing for disappointment.
