Eh... starting off a conversation with "oh, I think it's cool you're transitioning" is definitely a bad idea. That can easily make one uncomfortable. Granted, no group is a monolith, but usually I find that trans people want to be seen as the gender with which they identify, not as a trans person that "became" this. So the way I read this, it seems more like nervous laughter. Now, that said, this seems like a world where transphobia just doesn't exist, but being trans is also "exotic." I'm certainly of two minds on this. It's eliminating the hate, but it's also making trans people a kind of "outsider" class. Ultimately, this is a porn and we're meant not to think about it too hard, but still.
