The general consensus seems to be that threads can be crossposted into all relevant boards. There was a lot of drama surrounding that with that ongoing trainwreck of a Jasonafex/Kabier comic about kobolds and some pink slut that turns them gay because... reasons.

It wasn't based on consensus. It was based on policy, which some mod arbitrarily decided to change on a personal whim and the users got pissed off over. And while the policy for scalies has always been that they were cross-postable, it was also mentioned in that same thread that the policy for basement material was to have it strictly confined to the basement. But chances are that so long as nobody reports it, the mods won't give enough fucks to bother one way or another.

Looks like the only thing in the FAQ or Rules that says anything to that second effect is that cub needs to stay in cub. But, yeah, that should probably extend to almost everything else in the basement. Something like this should be fine, though.

As to the first point, though, there are questions in the FAQ that specifically call out people posting to multiple boards. It's not a specific site rule, but they assumed most people would prefer images to be kept in one board. An astonishingly incorrect assumption on their part. So, yeah, it is more consensus than policy. To be fair, the mods have never had a problem with things being crossposted before, so most people just assumed it was actual policy. Right up until one lazy mod arbitrarily decided it wasn't okay any more and moved one specific comic to mitigate growing complaints that they never actually did anything.

The faq explicitly states that cub is not allowed on this site at all. The faq is outdated and worthless. The 'policies' stated are the actual 'how this site works' policies referring to how we've actually been doing shit for the last goddamn eternity. Unfortunately, our mods appear to be bigger newfags than a majority of our userbase at this point given that they can't seem to remember a time before the last crash.
